Freedom Attendant Control Kit (All Models)

We are pleased to announce a new Attendant Control Kit for the Freedom Chair range. This thumbstick controller adds rear control of the chair’s movement in all directions, by a carer, when walking behind the chair. Being easy to fit, it simply plugs into the charging port of the new style main joystick and adds a very useful pair of rearward facing handles for the carer to hold, adjustable for 3 height positions. The thumbstick controller can be located on either the right or left handle and the chair still folds just as easily as before.

When the thumbstick is turned on, the front joystick becomes inoperable. Repeated short presses on the thumbstick’s power button steps through the chair’s speed setting allowing the carer to set a comfortable walking pace. Turning off the thumbstick with a long press restores control back to the front joystick.

The updated main joystick, fitted as standard to all new Freedom Chairs, supports USB charging of phones and also features a very useful bright LED light to illuminate the path ahead.

This kit helps to lengthen the usable life of a Freedom Chair should the user become less able to control the chair themselves from the main front joystick.
